You have often heard us call St. Veronica our "Sister Parish." This term has become common in our time for naming a relationship of cooperation between parishes.
Father Donald McNamara, who had worked in SS Simon and Jude Parish for 9 years, became pastor of St Veronica. Some of our fine parishioners, with Msgr. Francis Meehan's happy cooperation, warmly arranged a program of cooperation and kindness with St. Veronica's. From then on, we have been blessed to be walking with them!
Currently we take up a special collection for their needs twice a year.
We also exchange pulpits once a year.
The current pastor comes to SS. Simon and Jude and our Pastor, travels to St. Veronica's.
We have a couple of dedicated parishioners that help with St. Veronica's Religious Education program during the school year, and various ministries in the parish have done service projects to help with collecting specific items, such at sports equipment, or helped to maintain their facilities.
