Monday, January 23, 2012 Saints Simon and Jude Parish will be taking a bus trip down to Washington, DC for the March for Life. All 7th and 8th grade students are welcome to come. All those students who go on the trip will be excused from school for the day. This pilgrimage is sponsored by the Saints Simon and Jude Pro-Life Committee.
The itinerary for the day is as follows:
1. 7:00 am—Departure of the bus from in front of the Church
2. 10:00 am to 10:30 am—Arrival at the national Shrine of the Immaculate Conception for Mass.
There are two Masses—one at 10:00 a.m. and one at 11:30 a.m.
The National Shrine is on the Campus of Catholic University of America.
3. 11:30 — 12:30 pm — Take the subway from Catholic University to downtown Washington
4. 1:00 — 1:30 pm — March Begins
5. 4:00 pm—Take the subway from downtown Washington to Catholic University
6. 5:00 pm—Departure from National Shrine to SS. Simon and Jude Church
7. Return to SS. Simon and Jude at approximately 8:00 pm
The students need to dress warmly and to pack their own lunches. Expenses for the bus and subway tickets will be paid by SS. Simon and Jude Pro-life Ministry. There is no cost to the students. You are welcome to bring a little money for food that can be purchased along the way, but still pack a lunch. There will be adult male and female chaperons from SS. Simon and Jude Parish who are approved by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and will be re-sponsible for the 7th and 8th grade participants. This will also include members of the SS. Simon and Jude Knights of Columbus Council. The deadline to sign up is Wednesday, January 18. Please return the permission form back to your homeroom teacher. This is a wonderful opportunity to show our support for a most important cause.
