I count everything as Loss compared with the Love of Christ that has been poured into our hearts. Saint Paul It may seem obvious, but it is nonetheless true, that everything up to the cross and resurrection was a preparation for our salvation and everything after the cross and resurrection is its fulfillment. Good gracious, what does this mean?
It was impossible for anyone or any sacrifice in the Old Testament to compare with the person of Jesus Christ who is God. That is why sacred scripture proclaims that Jesus is the fulfillment of the law and the prophets, as noted in the Transfiguration with Moses and Elijah. Jesus Christ, who ‘entered willing into his passion’ is the one singular sacrifice that is Mercy. Once and for all, everyone who looks on the Son and believes will have forgiveness of sin, anyone! This encounter with the person of Jesus Christ is an encounter with mercy, forgiveness & more, eternal life.
Consequently, we pray for true repentance, a true turning from our former ways of life to a life in the Spirit. A new life in the spirit will guide us, as the spirit has guided countless millions, with wisdom and knowledge that leads us to a holy surrender in the Divine Mercy of Jesus! May Jesus have mercy on us all. Father Mike Gerlach
