Extracurricular Activities

SSJ offers a wide variety of after school activities, sports, and music programs. We encourage our students to participate in one or more of these activities.

Music:

This program offers a wide range of choices for students interested in music. The programs take place throughout the school day. Students are scheduled for instrumental lessons each week. When students miss class they are expected to make up any missed classwork.

The program includes Chorus (grades 3-6), Show Choir (grades 6-8) and Instrumental (grades 4-8). There are Winter and Spring concert as well.

Chorus and Show Choir are conducted by Mrs. Snader. Chorus practice takes place after school on Wednesday until 4 PM. Show Choir practices on Thursdays during the lunch/recess hour. There are no auditions required to participate. Students are expected to attend all practices.

The Instrumental program is taught by Ms. Addalli. The lessons are taught during the school day between 8:45 and 2:45. there are many instruments to choose from such as; clarinet, flute, trombone, saxophone, oboe, drum, french horn, and trumpet. Information regarding instrumental lessons will be sent home by the teacher in September.

After School Activities

After school activities include Science Explorers, Public Speaking (Forensics), French Club, Scouts, Chorus, Show Choir, and Band. Information will be sent home through the communication folders as the club schedules become available.

CYO Sports

CYO is one component of the parish's comprehensive youth ministry program which enables the partnership of parents, coaches, priests, teachers, and adult leaders to manage and support a sports program that allows our youth to grow in their relationship with God and come to better understand themselves and the Catholic Faith through teamwork and friendship.

The sports available to our youth include; basketball, baseball, softball, football, flag football, soccer, volleyball, cheerleading, and track. The parish CYO site contains all detailed information.
