The primary purpose of the Finance Council is to provide assistance and guidance to the Pastor and the Parish Business Manager in achieving the fiscally and managerially responsible stewardship of the Parish's material goods and financial resources. The Finance Council assists the Pastor and the Parish Business Manager in a consultative capacity only. The Pastor is responsible for parish policy.
The membership of the Finance Council is comprised of the following individuals: the Pastor, the Parish School Principal, and a minimum of five Parishioners. The Business Manager is invited as a guest. The Pastor approves all appointments to the Council.
The responsibilities of the Finance Council include review of parish and school budgets, capital projects, financial reporting, school tuition rates, actual vs. budget expenditure reports, real estate matters, and a number of other financial and administrative issues. The Finance Council meets once a month from September through June as announced in the Church Bulletin.
